Under the supervision of Her Excellency Dr. Maryam Al-Anazi, Dean of the College, and on the occasion of World Food Day under the slogan “Water is Life, Water is Food,” and out of social responsibility, the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Qurayyat, represented by the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences, in cooperation with the Department of Education in Qurayyat, organized the “Your Food, Your Medicine” event. At Al Salam National School in Qurayyat, on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 10 am.
The meeting discussed the concept of healthy food, its importance, what are the contents of food, and the six basic elements of healthy food, and explained the importance of carbohydrates, proteins, and vitamins, as well as the important role of fats, minerals, and salts in vital processes within the human body. The meeting then touched on the paramount importance of water in the human body, because it is considered the source of life and food.
