Under the supervision of Her Excellency Dr. Maryam Al-Anazi, Dean of the College, and on the occasion of the International Day of the Elderly, the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Qurayyat, represented by the Department of Physical Therapy and Health Rehabilitation, Female Section, organized an elderly health event at the Family and Child Protection Center in Qurayyat on Thursday, 10/5/2023, at 5 p.m. The event included many activities, starting with the Royal Salute and then verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by presenting an overview of the International Day of Older Persons and explaining the biological changes for the elderly. Emphasis was also placed on health awareness to avoid harmful behavioral patterns, while explaining the correct method of how to use assistive devices such as a walker for various patients. The event concluded by providing advice to avoid falls in the elderly and the serious complications that follow.
