The main aim of the college is to work according to the quality and accreditation standards of the higher education institutions. The College also seeks to provide a distinguished academic environment that qualifies it in the ranks of the distinguished educational institutions locally and internationally.

In accordance with the directives of the High Commission to expand the establishment of universities and colleges in various regions of the Kingdom and the need to increase  students intake, which reduces the pressure on universities in main cities and given the increase in the number of secondary school graduates in the province of Qurayat, the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences - Alqayrayat was established by Decree No. 10/50/1429 in The tenth of the month of Rajab 1429 AH, which approved the restructuring of teacher colleges and colleges of girls affiliated to the University of Jouf, where the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz - mercy of God - the minutes of the meeting (the fiftieth) of the Council of Higher Education, No. 10209 / M and dated 30/12/1429 e and actually the college start the student intake for the academic year 1433-1434H.
