The President of Jouf University inaugurates the agricultural, environmental and nutritional education initiative

    The President of Jouf University, Prof. Muhammad Al-Shaya, inaugurated an agricultural, environmental and nutritional education initiative, which includes training, awareness and educational programs for farmers and those interested in agriculture, environment and food in Al-Jouf, which is executed by the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education in cooperation with a number of university sectors, and the inauguration was attended by the Director of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (Al-Jouf,  branch) Eng. Abdullah Al-Ahmari.

    The initiative comes within the social responsibility programs that the university adopts and is keen to continue. It serves the category of farmers, investors and workers in the agricultural field, and seeks to improve the quality of agricultural products and ensure food security, which will contribute to the development of the national economy.

    The university, represented by the Deanship of Community Service, in cooperation with the concerned colleges (the College of Science and the College of Science and Arts in Qurayyat, the College of Business, as well as the Olive Research Center and the Environmental Protection Unit), seeks to prepare and execute various programs that serve the agricultural and food field in the region, targeting those interested in the field and those working in it scientifically and practically. The aim is to improve agricultural products and to promote and manage them in the best possible way and also to contribute in achieving the Kingdom's 2030 vision of food security, agricultural self-sufficiency and reducing food waste in general.

    According to the supervisor of the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Ali, the initiative aims to strengthen the university’s role in serving all segments of society, including farmers and workers in the field of agriculture, food and points of sale for agricultural products, and to stand on the real educational and indicative needs of farmers.

    Dr. Al-Ali said that the initiative will include many training and rehabilitation programs for farmers, workers and investors in the agricultural and environmental fields, as well as many awareness programs in the field of food security and reducing food waste, in addition to contributing to improving agricultural products with modern scientific and technical methods.

    The initiative also includes the execution of a number of activities such as educational scientific lectures, field visits, scientific research, and informative and educational publications.
