Jouf University launches community education initiative in modern technologies, electronic transactions and computer fields

    The President of Jouf University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Shaya inaugurated community education initiative in digital technologies. The initiative aims at educating the community about modern technologies, electronic transactions, smart phones, governance and electronic projects in the fields of digital creativity, media and e-learning.

    The initiative aims to activate the university’s role in the field of serving different groups and segments of society in the technical and electronic fields, and to contribute to the availability of a minimum level of electronic culture and dealing with smart devices for all individuals, as well as the development of many training and technical and informational programs for different groups of society, including teachers and workers in the governmental, private, charitable, military and health sectors. In addition,  implementing many electronic programs in the field of computers periodically and making them available to all members of society, and also to contribute in improving the level of individuals in the field of electronic citizenship, data preservation and improving the quality of electronic transactions for all members of society.

    The initiative comes within the framework of the community initiatives implemented by the university with the participation of the College of Computer and Information Sciences, the College of Science and Arts in Qurayyat, the College of Science and Arts in Tabarjal, the College of Education, the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Learning, and the General Administration for Information and Communication Technology at the university, to raise the awareness and educate members of society about the factors of electronic safety and fraud according to the different technologies and devices, and the advantages available through the use of technologies in the educational and training field and other fields. In addition, the initiative aims to qualify community members to deal with modern technologies and devices, educate them in the field of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, and ensuring their mastery of the basic skills to deal with computers and smart devices .

    The activities of the initiative include preparing and implementing educational lectures, training programs and specialized workshops in the field of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, e-learning, computer and electronic culture, in addition to preparing and implementing educational lectures and training programs in the field of e-citizenship.
