Welcome Remarks and an Overview of the Conference: The Chairman of the Organizing Committee

Inspired by the Nation Vision 2030, and, on behalf of the organizing committee of the Second International Conference of the College of Medicine, Jouf University, Sakaka, Saudi Arabia, it gives much honor and pleasure inviting all of the interested colleagues from all over the world to attend and actively participate in the conference entitled: "Mother and Child Health", to be hold in the period from 7-9 of ِApril, 2019 in the premises of Jouf University Campus.

The conference aims primarily at gathering prominent academicians, research-interested specialist physicians, Resident and intern physicians, health specialists, primary healthcare staff, and stockholders and decision-makers in the field of the Mother & Child Health, to build collaborative relationships and exchanges expertise and recommendations of their basic and clinical research and experience in the field. The conference will provide an opportunity to increase knowledge and improve the skills through interaction with eminent scientists belonging to renowned institutions from all over the world, who will manage varieties of workshops. The conference as an interactive multidisciplinary platform is hoped to present the most up-dated directions, inventions, and creative improvements in the field, and, to discuss challenges in the field and propose and foresee solutions.

The most important objective of the conference is the improvement of efficiency of healthcare providers and the preventative and interventional health service provided to the mother and the child and their interactive problems at the local northern area and the national levels. For that, the conference activities are going to cover all aspects of mother's health, inherited genetic diseases, pre- and neonatal life of the infant along the way to late adolescence, besides factors affecting mother's fertility and health during pregnancy, partum and post-partum periods.

Accordingly, the conference – through providing an interactive stage with competent national and international scientists having inspiring proficiencies, will have a significant impact on furthering the development of Jouf University College of Medicine, students and staffs, through widening its circle of relationships and collaborations and raising its flag among the prominent national and international medical centers, considering the clinical practice and basic, translational and clinical research.    

The conference aims, also, to encourage the scientific research through furnishing a scientific research publication stage for poster presentations that will appear as abstracts in the conference proceedings. Since Jouf University has an international peer-reviewed medical journal, Jouf University Medical Journal (AUMJ), as quarterly-issued free-of-charge journal, researcher willing to publish their results as original articles are welcomed to submit full-manuscript that will be considered for publication after peer-revision. Accepted articles will appear in a special issue of the AUMJ.

The conference provides a series of continuing medical education and professional development activities. They are delivered as lectures, panel discussions, interactive case presentations, workshops and poster presentations that cover various aspects of mother and child health and factors affecting both. The targeted audience includes general physicians, workers, administrators and epidemiologists in public and family health sector, Ob/Gyn specialists, pediatricians, clinical researchers, resident and intern physicians, allied medical health specialists, medical and paramedical students, midwives and all concerned personnel and organizations, along with companies working in the field. We are expecting more than 400 attendees; local, national, regional and international.
