King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, custodian of the two holy mosques, approved the establishment of the Olive Research Centre, under the authority of the Ministry of Higher Education 35346, 22/09/1434 AH, after approval from the Council of Higher Education at its 73rd session. The act followed a reference to the recommendation of the Council of the University of Jouf during its first session of the academic year 1433/1434 , dated 17/11/1433 AH, concerning the request for establishment of the Olive Research Centre of the university.

His Excellency, the Director of Jouf University has confirmed that this centre will meet the aspirations of people interested in this blessed tree and its farmers and the aspirations of the region’s inhabitants, who will also achieve a qualitative leap in the development of the olive tree to the magnifying glass development and vital monitoring. The rapid growth of the areas that started the region, especially those that follow developments in the agricultural sector, and the extent to which they have realized the importance of creating culture and valuing the various products of the region and this tree.
