University Academic Programs Restructure

  The University Rectorate for Educational Affairs has restructured the Academic Units and Programs to meet the requirements of the labor market and achieve the vision of the Kingdom of 2030. This resulted renaming some faculties and setting up others, as well as renaming and reopening Academic Departments, as the following:

  • Establishment the college of Business, including the departments of Business Administration, Accounting, and Finance and Investment.
  • Changing the name of the Faculty of Administrative and Human Sciences to the College of Arts in Sakaka, including the departments of Arabic, English, Sports and Physical Sciences, as well as the department of Fine Arts.
  • Opening the Department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Computer and Information.
  • Opening the Department of Interior Design, Faculty of Engineering for female- students only.
  • Opening the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Science - Sakaka.
  • Renaming the Department of Computer Science and Information to the Department of Computer Science in Faculty of Computer Science and Information, Faculty of Science and Arts in Tabargal, and Faculty of Science and Arts in Qurayyat.
  • Transfer of the Department of Islamic Studies in Sakaka to the Faculty of Sharia and Law.
  • Separating the Department of Islamic Studies, Faculty of Science and Arts in Tabargal Section of the Department of Islamic Studies in Qurayyat to be an independent section.
  • The Department of English and the Department of Administrative Sciences and Humanity have approved the Financial Management Program at the Community College in Tabargal.
  • Renaming the Department of Kindergartens, Faculty of Education in Sakaka and Faculty of Science and Arts in Qurayyat, to the Department of Early Childhood.
  • Renaming the Department of Means and Techniques of Education in the Faculty of Education in Sakaka and Faculty of Science and Arts in Qurayyat, to the Department of Education Technologies.
  • Separating the Department of Education and Psychology into two sections: Department of Leadership and Educational Politics, and the Department of Educational Psychology, Faculty of Education, Sakaka.
  • Renaming the Department of Home Economics, Faculty of Arts and Sciences in Qurayyat, to the Department of Fine Arts.

This reflects the University's keenness to keep up with the vision of the Kingdom of 2030 in all its aspects and activities, to be at the forefront of universities seeking to contribute seriously to achieving the vision and aspirations of the leadership that Allah – Glory be to Him- is asked to support.
