Chairman's Speech

 All praise be to Allah and peace be upon his Messenger,

I am pleased to welcome our dear students to the Department of English Language Skills at the Deanship of the Common First Year - Jouf University.

The Department contributes significantly in preparing students of the CFY for a successful University life through offering them an intensive, integrative and communicative based English Language training program. The most effective and modern international English language curricula and highly qualified and competent native English-Speaking teachers and supervisors are also provided to ensure success for all students. Students would also be provided with a supportive and encouraging learning environment.

I would like to express my gratefulness for the continuous support of the Rector of Jouf University and the Dean of the Common First Year.

Leadership in teaching English language skills and managing their programs.

 

Mission:

To make a qualitative leap in the acquisition of English language skills for academic, scientific and public purposes by attracting the best training competencies, the latest sources of teaching and learning, and the best management systems.

 

Objectives:

  1. Enabling students to communicate effectively using English for purposes of specialization and general purposes.
  2. Providing a stimulating learning environment in the teaching of English.
  3. Developing English language curricula based on practical skills, living practices, and extracurricular activities.
  4. Integrating the student community into real activities that enhance their English language abilities.
  5. Employing the best training competencies, and developing them professionally according to the best quality standards.
  6. Providing all necessary sources of teaching and learning that proved effective.
  7. Employing the best methods of teaching English in daily classroom practices.
  8. Integrating technology in the process of teaching and daily study effectively.
  9. Following the best assessment and evaluation methods based on performance and achievement of the level of proficiency of students in English.
  10. Using evaluation criteria and evaluation of the performance of trainers and administrators and the program based on global standards.
  11. Ensuring the quality of the program through continuous internal and external evaluation.
