Academic Counseling Unit

Vision, Mission and Tasks

Introduction:

The Academic and Student Counseling Unit at the College Science is responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising the implementation of the academic guidance process by the faculty members of the faculty, and be responsible to the Dean of the College, and works in coordination with the Unit Academic and Student Counseling Center.

Vision:

Leadership and excellence in the field of academic and student guidance, and contribute to the development of the personality of the student, and develop his skills in various areas.

Mission:

To support the student to develop his abilities and abilities, to understand and solve his academic problems, to make his decisions and to plan for his future in light of his potential and the reality of his community, to achieve the highest possible degree of academic excellence.

Tasks:

  1. Supervision of the process of academic guidance in the College according to the approved mechanisms.
  2. Organizing an orientation meeting at the beginning of each semester of each year to introduce the student, the new curriculum, The College, its system, its nature and its departments. The expected Jobs for each departments, and the College Administration (The Dean and the Heads of Departments) and the academic guides.
  3. Provide Counseling tools from university sources and deliver them to academic advisors,
  4. Organizing courses, training sessions, workshops and lectures to teach students some skills and to prepare the students of the college for Exams.
  5. Helping students solve their psychological and social problems that directly affect Academic achievement.
  6. Coordinating with the Center for Academic Guidance and students at the university and carrying out other tasks entrusted to the unit.
  7. Early guidance for students to register their courses of next semester and to prevent conflicts and problems and avoid them in the last semester.
  8. Address the problems of students who fail and guide them appropriately.
  9. Activation of the E- Counseling.
