About the Unit:

The unit is responsible for following up the graduates of the college and knowing their scientific and practical developments news in the interest of the university in general and the college in particular in order to maintain a state of continuous and strong communication with its graduates.

Vision:

Excellence in the service and follow-up graduates of the College and to open channels of communication between the College and its graduates and employers for meaningful and constructive cooperation to serve the college, graduates and society.

Mission:

Alumni Unit seeks to be an effective communication channel between the college and its graduates and contribute to the development of graduates’ skills to find job opportunities to meet the requirements of the labor market and the need of society.

Objectives:

  • Develop the skills of graduates to suit the needs of the labor market.
  • Providing a database of the institutions and companies to which the graduate can enroll.
  • Evaluating the level of graduates of the college after their employment and determining the extent of the civil and governmental civil society institutions on the quality of graduates of the college.
  • Providing a database for graduates and updating them with new graduates.
  • Coordination and cooperation with institutions and companies to train and find employment opportunities for graduates.
  • Benefit from distinguished graduates in their workplaces in support of new graduates and the development of programs and activities of the College.

  1. Preparation of training programs and workshops based on the wishes of graduates to develop their skills to suit the needs of the labor market.

 About the unit

The student guidance is the incubator and helps the student in creating the educational environment in support of his positive behavior, helps the student to adapt and actively integrate in activities and events that take place inside and outside the college, by finding the best and most appropriate solutions to overcome academic, psychological or behavioral problems, Or social, that may be exposed to the student and reflected negatively on his performance, and achieve academic achievement expected. The Vision, mission and aims of the unit are as follows:

 Vision:

Quality and integrated guidance services.

 Mission:

 To raise the level of academic, behavioral, vocational and educational students to achieve an effective relationship between the students and the university.

  Objectives:

  1. Develop students' talents and creativity.
  2. Promote students' self-confidence and the importance of self-reliance.
  3. Support positive behaviors, work on their development, and address negative behaviors.
  4. Assist students who have failed to study, to improve their academic situation.
  5. Assisting students who have completed studies to maintain their academic status.
  6. Provide advice on psychological and academic counseling.
  7. Attention to cases of absence, and identify the causes, and methods of treatment.

Duties:

  1. Meeting academically challenged students.
  2. Meeting with students in the case of repeated absence in any of the semester's courses.
  3. Meeting with students in case of withdrawal from a course.
  4. Discuss how to activate academic guidance.
  5. Meeting with students receiving academic warning, due to low CGPA.
  6. Address the behavioral and psychological problems faced by students.
  7. Presenting lectures, seminars and training courses in the field of guidance and guidance.

 About the Unit:

The unit provides technical and logistical supports to students and teachers regarding examination. Also, it ensures the build of the lecture schedules in order to maintain the efficiency in the teaching process and improve the efficiency of performance in college.

 Vision:

Leadership at the level of college units and being ranked among the best university examination unit, which distinguishes the college.

 Mission:

Preparing and contributing to the regularity of the educational process through carrying out the assigned tasks and activities according to the quality standards.

Objectives:

1. Commit to quality standards in the lecture and examination scheduling to obtain academic accreditation.

2. Develop evaluation and examination systems in cooperation with the Quality and Accreditation Unit.

3. Provide statistics on the quarterly grades and, midterm and final exams.

4. Manage examination on the field including the tasks of documenting and preserving.

5. Provide academic services to students and teachers in cooperation with the Academic Affairs Unit.

 Duties:

1- Determine the necessary requirements for the examination process (materials such as devices, answer papers, envelopes, printers and photocopiers), and then raising the application for deficiencies.

2- Ensure that the response sheets are in accordance with the unified design approved by the Quality and Accreditation Unit.

3 - Prepare a list of names of faculty members and their employment numbers.

4 - Build the lecture and final exam schedules in accordance with the Standing Committee of the schedules.

5- Form the following committees: the Control Committees, the monitoring committees, the committee for receiving the exams paper sheets, the coordination committee with the female sections.

6 - Prepare the necessary forms for the unit process.

7 – Prepare the examination rooms and ensure the availability of seats and the air conditioning and heating.

8 - Monitor the performance of examination committees, control defects and address the requirement reports.

The Student Affairs Unit carries out the tasks related to the undergraduate students on the following subjects: excuses, re-registration, granting of opportunity, complaint, grievance, deprivation lists, student issues committee, sports and cultural activities.

 Vision:

To achieve leadership and excellence in providing services and support to students with high quality and accuracy with respect to the vision, mission and objectives of the college and university. Promotes student work to the highest levels, enrich the students cultural, intellectual and social, and sports activities.

 Mission:

contribute to the preparation of distinguished cadres, through the investment of leisure time and support, motivate the outstanding talents, develop the spirit of positive and participation, and promote belonging to the homeland and adherence to Islamic norms and values.

 About the Unit:

 E-learning and Distance Education unit was established by an administrative decision to support the development of educational process which the university witnessed in general and the college in particular, through the implementation of the latest means of e-learning and distance learning adopted in the best universities of the world.

Accelerated progress in e-learning and distance education has made information technology a very important means of advancing education through modern methods and is necessary to facilitate learning for those who wish and help them achieve their goals even with distance. E-learning is a great contribution to the development of the educational system. The e-learning and distance learning unit was established to provide technical and moral support to students in College of Computers and information Sciences. The vision, mission and objectives of the Unit are summarized as follows:

Vision:

Achieving leadership and excellence in the e-learning system and distance learning.

 Mission:

Activate the role of e-learning and distance education in the development of the educational process according to the latest technical principles to achieve quality standards.

 Objectives:

1- Activating the system of e-learning and distance education in college

2- To spread the culture of e-learning among the members of society through the establishment of workshops and training courses.

3- Activating e-learning among students in electronic, integrated or regular courses.

4- Activating e-learning among faculty members to keep abreast of progress in this modern technology.

5 - Ensure the members of the faculty to access the system of e-learning and distance education

6 - Coordination of communication between the College and the dimensions of e-learning and distance education at the university.

7 - Implementation of the annual plan received from the Deanship of e-learning at the University

Duties:

  1. Preparation of the strategic plan of the unit.
  2. Providing technical support to faculty members in the faculty.
  3. Dissemination of e-learning culture among faculty members and students through seminars, workshops and so on.
  4. Provide training courses for students to enable them to use the e-learning system in cooperation with the Deanship of e-learning and distance education at the university.
  5. Follow-up faculty members and periodic reports on the extent of   activation of each member of the system of e-learning.
  6. Follow up on contemporary developments in e-learning and seek to benefit from them.
  7. Preparation of a quarterly report on what was accomplished during the semester, including the evaluation of electronic courses on the Blackboard.
  8. Raise the assessments of faculty members at the end of each semester to the Deanship of e-learning.

About the unit

 The unit works to ensure quality in the college scientific departments, units, and other supporting administrative divisions to achieve its mission and its objectives. The unit implements the policies and mechanisms of the Center for Quality, Evaluation and Accreditation of the University.

 Vision

Leadership in supervising the quality and academic accreditation aspects of the college and being among the best quality assurance and academic accreditation units of national colleges of Computer and Information Sciences.

 Mission

Excellence and effective supervision of all aspects of quality and academic accreditation in the college of Computer and Information Sciences.

 Objectives

  1. Drawing up academic accreditation plans and policies in the college.
  2. Achieve international academic accreditation (ABET) for all programs in the college.
  3. Achieve national academic accreditation by aligning academic programs with NCAAA requirements and standards and applying the quality management system in college.
  4. Assist in achieving the university's goals in the field of quality and academic accreditation.

 Duties

  1. Drawing up general policies for quality development at the college level and submitting them to the College Council.
  2. Spreading the culture of quality assurance in the college and supporting the activities related to it.

  4. Following up the level of discipline and quality in the college and identify possible areas of improvement and propose the necessary projects.

About the  Unit

As an independent higher education institution, the College of Computer and Information sciences aims to be a destination for students and scientists who aimed to succeed in a dynamic and supportive learning environment. The role of the Postgraduate Unit in the College is to establish and deliver a high quality postgraduate programmers for the different areas in the computer science, computer engineering, and information. Research is considered as an important role of the Postgraduate Unit. The research in the college can be carried out as individual research, research within a team or within a research projects and it should play a substantial role in enriching the scientists within the college learning experience by broadening and deepening the experience of the college and enhancing the curriculum for staff as well as the students.

Vision

The College of Computer and Information Sciences should be a platform for postgraduate students and a leading College for the development of the academic process for postgraduate studies.

Mission

Continuous development of scientific research and graduate programs at the college and providing service to postgraduate students, and faculty members.

Objectives:

  1. Develop graduate programs at the college and raise the efficiency of institutional performance.
  2. Support for graduate students during their studies.
  3. Coordinating the work of the graduate committees of the college, and benefiting from joint efforts.
  4. Supporting faculty members in postgraduate studies and providing assistance to them.
  5. Activating the scientific research in the college and raising the efficiency of the research for the faculty members.

Duties

  1. Establishing a graduate programs and coordination among the program heads of various departments.
  2. Propose plans for the development of graduate programs in coordination with the program Heads in the different departments.
  3. Prepare an annual report on the progress of graduate programs and propose recommendations to the dean of the faculty.
  4. Coordinate with other units in all relevant areas.
  5. Prepare an annual report on the progress of the scientific research in the faculty.
  6. Create an initial index of a database that includes the university publications and research projects for the members of all the departments.
  7. Organizing specialized courses and seminars for the staff and the students in the skills of scientific research.
  8. Updating the graduate unit section on college website.
